Extra Curricular Activities

At Al-Hijrah pupils are encouraged to become fully involved in extra curricular activities. These include:

  • Performing class assemblies
  • Science club
  • Computer club
  • Reading club
  • Fund-raising
  • Sports
  • Educational trips to places of interest
  • School magazines produced by the pupils
  • Projects for display

Al-Hijrah organises trips and offers the opportunity to experience many extra-curricular activities. These actvities make an important contribution towards enriching the education the pupils receive at Al-Hijrah. All pupils have been privileged enough to perform at the CBSO Centre in Birmingham.

Al-Hijrah organises trips abroad for pupils to experience and appreciate cultures and lifestyles different from theirs. In 2003 for the first time Al-Hijrah organised a trip abroad for the girls. Year 11 gilrs visited historical and religious sites in Southern Spain, Gibraltar and Morocco.

The boys have enjoyed many trips to Saudi Arabia, Jordon and Palestine, thus having the opportunity to retrace their roots, as well as gain cultural and spiritual understanding of Islam. The trips have many benefits, most of all they encourage brotherhood and sisterhood amongst the pupils and a sense of unity.
